Copenhagen, Jan 2 (IBNS): At least six people died in a train mishap in Denmark on Wednesday, media reports said.

The mishap occurred on the Great Belt Bridge.

"The bridge linking the islands of Zealand and Funen has been shut after the incident, and people are reportedly being evacuated," reported BBC.

BBC quoting local media reports suggested that a tarpaulin from a cargo train hit a passenger train en route to Copenhagen in a heavy storm.

131 passengers were reportedly present in the train when the mishap occurred.

Emergency services are trying to reach the spot.
