Washington, Feb 9 (IBNS): The second meeting between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will take place in Hanoi city of Vietnam on Feb 27-28, officials said.

Revealing the venue of the meeting, US President Donald Trump tweeted: "My representatives have just left North Korea after a very productive meeting and an agreed upon time and date for the second Summit with Kim Jong Un. It will take place in Hanoi, Vietnam, on February 27 & 28. I look forward to seeing Chairman Kim & advancing the cause of peace!"

Trump said North Korea will become an 'Economic Powerhouse' under the rule of Kim Jong Un.

"North Korea, under the leadership of Kim Jong Un, will become a great Economic Powerhouse. He may surprise some but he won’t surprise me, because I have gotten to know him & fully understand how capable he is. North Korea will become a different kind of Rocket - an Economic one!," he said.

The two leaders met for the first time in 2018.

2017 had ended on a bitter note with US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong UN continuously attacking each other verbally but the mid of 2018 witnessed a picture of hope when the two finally met in Singapore.

June 12 became a significant date as Trump became the first sitting US president to meet with a North Korea leader.

Trump had appreciated the outcome of the summit as he considered it as his administration’s successful quest to achieve denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
