Moscow, May 31 (Sputnik/UNI) Approval rating of Russian President Vladimir Putin is formed by the assessment of his work by Russian citizens, and sociology is often wrong calculating this approval, Kremiln spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday.

On Wednesday, Russian pollster VTsIOM head Valery Fedorov said that Putin’s personal rating was decreasing as Russians "did not believe that life would be better tomorrow than today" as their income was not growing for the past five years.

"You know, there are no different presidential ratings. The president has one rating, which it is formed by how people assess the results of the president's work. ... Of course, we closely monitor various data. It is often completely contrary to what we get from citizens in reality," Peskov said, answering a question whether the Kremlin was satisfied with the new VTsIOM data and what methods of rating calculation were more trusted.

The spokesman noted that sociology was often wrong in calculations of presidential rating, adding that the Kremlin highly appreciated the work of Russian sociologists and monitored results of their work.
