Turkey: Six die as blast rocks busy street in Istanbul
Istanbul: The blast in Turkey's Istanbul city left six people dead and 53 others hurt on Sunday with country's president Recep Tayyip Erdogan saying it could be a suspected 'act of terrorism'.
Istanbul Gov. Ali Yerlikaya confirmed the casualty in the incident on his social media handle.

The blast occurred in Istanbul’s popular pedestrian Istiklal Avenue.
"The relevant units of our state are working to find the perpetrators behind this heinous attack," President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was quoted as saying by Daily Sabah in a press conference before his departure for Indonesia to attend the G-20 summit.
"Initial observations show a woman played a role in the explosion," he said and stated that "based on initial information from the governor, the explosion could be suspected act of terrorism."
Several videos are currently circulating on social media showing the exact moment of the blast.

Security forces and ambulances reached the spot after the mishap.
The cause of the explosion is still not known.
The spot where the blast occurred is a very popular tourist destination in the city.
