Pakistan: Suicide blast on a checkpost in North Waziristan leaves eight dead
At least eight people, including four policemen and two security officials, died after a suicide bomb blast rocked a joint police and security forces checkpoint in the Eidak area of North Waziristan district on Saturday, media reports said.
The attack reportedly occurred when the security personnel were inspecting vehicles.
The suicide bomber was reportedly travelling in a rickshaw.
“Four policemen, two security personnel and two civilians have been martyred,” an official told Dawn News.
The injured personnel were airlifted to Combined Military Hospital in Bannu district.
Police sources told Dawn News several vehicles were damaged in the blast.
The area was immediately cordoned off after the blast.
