Malaysia gets its first Sharia compliant airline
According to reports, the airline apart from banning alcoholic in-flight drinks have also laid down dress codes for the cabin and crew members.
Jaafar Zamhari, the MD of the airline company told local news outlet Astro Awani, "It is compulsory for our Muslim women cabin crew to wear hijab and for non-Muslims to wear a decent uniform."
Apart from providing Halal food, prayers will also be recited before the departure of each flight.
"We also recite doa (prayers) before the departure of each flight, we have a 'no-alcohol' policy, and we provide food and beverages that are halal."
About the in-flight food, the airline's website says, "Our complimentary welcome snack pack offers passengers with tasty muffin, fruit juice and peanuts – all hygienically packed in a handy box. For those passengers who simply enjoy airline food, Rayani Air also offers additional meals at a very friendly price."
