New York, Aug 4 (Just Earth News): The United Nations is "deeply troubled" by the recent missile launches of the Democratic Republic of Korea (DPRK), a UN spokesperson said on Wednesday after one of the rockets, reportedly landed in or near Japanese waters for the first time.

"Such actions seriously undermine regional peace and stability. We reiterate the call on the DPRK to heed the united call of the international community to reverse its course and return to the process of sincere dialogue," said Stéphane Dujarric, Spokesperson for Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon during the regular daily briefing at UN Headquarters on Wednesday.

Dujarric added that later on Wednesday, the UN Security Council will hold closed-door consultations on the situation.
