Libyan flight hijack: Hijakcers surrender, taken to custody
They have been taken into custody.
The flight was hijacked after it took off from Sabha from Libya.
The domestic flight was on its way to Tripoli city.
Maltese PM Joseph Muscat tweeted: "Hijackers surrendered, searched and taken in custody."
Afriqiyah Airways Airbus A320 was carrying 118 people, which included passengers.
The passengers were released and later the hijackers surrendered, reports said.
"However, it appears they may be supporters of the late former leader, Muammar Gaddafi," BBC reported.
The demands of the hijackers are not known.
