Will celebrate Azadi at D Chowk tonight: Imran Khan

Islamabad, Aug 20 (IBNS) Amid ongoing protests in demand for Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's resignation, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan said he and his supporters will celebrate 'Azadi' (freedom) at D Chowk on Wednesday night.
"I want all Pakistanis 2 get here breaking all barriers. Warning police 2 release r ppl or v will punish them 4 unlawfully detaining r ppl," he tweeted.
 
"Tonite we will celebrate Azadi at D Chowk," the Pakistani cricketer-turned-politician said.
 
Meanwhile,PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi said only after Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif resigns from his position they will speak with the government.
 
The Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and the country's government are expected to start negotiations later.
 
"A four member government team comprising Khawaja Saad Rafique, Abdul Qadri Baloch, Haider Abbas Rizvi and Ijaz-ul-Haq met with PAT leaders while Dr Tahirul Qadri remained in his container only appearing briefly to address workers to remain calm and stop chanting slogans," Geo News reported.
 
Demanding Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's resignation, protesters led by Pakistan's cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan and cleric Tahir ul-Qadri  demonstrated in Islamabad's Red Zone since Tuesday.
 
The Red Zone in Islamabad houses state buildings and foreign embassies.
 
Prime Minister's daughter  Maryam Nawaz Sharif  tweeted:"Pakistanis, PMLN stand behind their leader & Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Anti-Pakistan elements identified & singled out."
