Islamabad, Aug 21 (IBNS): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Thursday said the party suspended negotiations with the government team.

"PTI suspends negotiations with the government committee. Their attitude is totally opposite compared to their dialogues call. @SMQureshiPTI," the party tweeted.

The PTI leader said the decision had been conveyed to Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar.

According to the party, the government's attitude was opposite to their dialogue calls.

"Police has begun crackdown on PTI workers and is again blocking roads in Islamabad. @SMQureshiPT," the party posted.

This was the second meeting scheduled between the government and PTI after the first round of dialogue took place on Wednesday night.

During the first meeting, PTI leaders presented six demands made by party chairman  Imran Khan before the government committee, Geo TV reported.

Demanding Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's resignation, protesters led by Pakistan's cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan and cleric Tahir ul-Qadri  demonstrated in Islamabad's Red Zone since Tuesday.

The Red Zone in Islamabad houses state buildings and foreign embassies.

Prime Minister's daughter  Maryam Nawaz Sharif  tweeted:"Pakistanis, PMLN stand behind their leader & Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Anti-Pakistan elements identified & singled out."
