Protesters march towards Pakistan PM's residence, violence erupts

Islamabad, Aug 30 (IBNS) Violence erupted as protesters led by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Dr Tahirul Qadri marched towards the Prime Minister house in Islamabad leaving several people injured on Saturday.

"Violence broke out after the protesters attempted to remove containers in front of the President House, using a crane," Dawn News reported.

The security forces reportedly used tear gas to disperse the crowd.

Amid violence, the PTI has announced a strike on Sunday, reports said.

Demanding Sharif's resignation, Thousands of protesters led Qadri and  Khan have camped outside the parliament building in Islamabad for the past few days.
