Six children killed in Afghanistan landmine blast
Kabul, Dec 29 (IBNS); At least six children were killed in a landmine blast in northern Balkh province of Afghanistan, media reports said on Friday.
Police spokesman Sher Jan Durrani told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in Dawlatabad district on Wednesday evening.
He told he news agency the children were aged between seven and 11 years.
He further said the blast occurred when the children were playing with the explosive.
The explosive device had been planted by insurgents, he told the news agency.
No group has claimed responsibility for the blast so far.
