Afghanistan: 1 Afghan Local Police member killed in Taliban attack on post

Kabul, Feb 6 (IBNS): In a Taliban attack on check post in southern Helmand province of Afghanistan, at least one  Afghan Local Police (ALP) member was killed, media reports said on Tuesday.

The incident left seven others injured.

A well-placed government source, who did not want to be named, told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants attacked the check-post in the Aab Pashak area of Greshk district late on Monday night.

He said one policeman was killed and four ALP and three ANA personnel were hurt in the incident.

He said the attackers also  suffered heavy casualties.

Taliban has confirmed the incident.

Qari Yousaf Ahmadi, the group’s spokesman, claimed the rebels had overrun the post in Greshk, reported Pajhwok Afghan News.
