Afghanistan: Nangarhar airstrike kills Taliban military chief

Kabul, May 26 (IBNS): A Taliban military chief has been gunned down in an airstrike conducted by Afghan forces in the country's Nangarhar province, reports said on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Gul Mohammad Sangari.

According to the Afghan Ministry of Defence, the forces targeted Taliban hideouts in Swati area of Surkh Road district of the province.

A number of other militants have also been killed, however, the exact figure is unknown as of now.
