Kabul, Aug 27 (IBNS): An ISIS leader in Afghanistan was killed during an airstrike in Nangarhar area of the country on Saturday night, media reports said on Monday.

The deceased ISIS leader was identified as Abu Sayed Orakzai.

As per Tolo News report, Orakzai was killed along with 10 other Daesh fighters in Nangarhar.

Officials did not say whether the airstrike had been carried out by the Afghan Air Force or foreign forces, reported Tolo News.

However, the group’s weapons cache was also destroyed in the airstrike, officials told the Afghanistan-based news website.

Orakzai is the third ISIS leader killed in Afghanistan, reports said.

Another leading Afghan ISIS member, Qari Hikmatullah, was killed in an air strike by the U.S. military in April this year, reported Daily Mail.
