Kathmandu, Mar 2 (IBNS): At least 112 people died after the vehicle in which they were travelling veered off the road into Mahakali River at Ratakatha in Duhun Rural Municipality-3 of Nepal's Darchula district on Friday, media reports said on Saturday.
According to Police Inspector Rabindra Kathayat at Darchula District Police Office (DPO), seven women, three men and a girl child lost their lives in the accident. The identifications of the deceased are yet to be established, reported The Himalayan Times.
The jeep was travelling to Hikila from the district headquarters Khalanga along Darchula-Tinkar road when the mishap occurred.
The jeep plunged 500 metres into the Mahakali River, local media reports said.
