Afghanistan: 40 hurt in Taliban mortar attack on Faryab market

Kabul, July 5 (IBNS): At least 40 people were hurt when  the Taliban militants shelled a local market in northern Faryab province of Afghanistan, media reports said.

The 209th Shaheen Corps in a statement said the Taliban militants shelled Khwaja Shabz Posh market earlier today, reported Khaama Press.

The statement further added that the Taliban militants fired multiple rounds of mortars and rockets on market, the news agency further said.

The incident reportedly occurred when people had visited the venue for 'Friday Bazaar'.
