Dhaka, July 22 (IBNS): Bangladesh police have detained three people for their involvement in the alleged murder of Taslima Begum Renu in country's capital city Dhaka, media reports said.

The woman was beaten up to death by a mob in Uttar Badda area of the city.

The three people were detained from Uttar Badda area.

“Based on CCTV footage, we have picked up three people for interrogation,” Abdur Razzak, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Badda Police Station told The Daily Star newspaper.

The three detained persons were identified as Zafor, Bappi and Shahin.

Taslima was killed in front of the Uttar Badda Government Primary School.

SHe had reportedly gone to the area to know about the admission process for her child.

Nasir Uddin Tito, a nephew of the victim, told The Daily Star, “We want justice. Police can easily identify those in video footages [of the incident].”

“She had no enmity with anyone. She had only gone to the school for her child’s admission. Why would she be mistaken for a kidnapper,” he told the newspaper, adding she had gone to the school after her daily morning walk.

A case has been filed against unknwon people with Badda police station.
