Pakistan: Sikh man from Imran Khan's PTI cites atrocities on minorities, seeks asylum in India

Islamabad: At a time Imran Khan is raising concerns over the alleged human rights violations in the Indian Kashmir, a Sikh man from his own party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) sought an asylum in India citing atrocities against the minorities in the South Asian nation, media reports said.

Baldev Kumar, the PTI leader, has alleged that the minorities are being targeted in Khan's "Naya Pakistan".

Also he said one of his party colleagues was recently brutally killed due to political reasons.

Kumar's allegation came days after a Sikh girl was abducted, converted and forcefully married to a Muslim man in Pakistan's Punjab.

The Khan government is repeatedly attacking New Delhi ever since the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in India abrogated Articles 370 and 35A to withdraw the special status which Jammu and Kashmir was enjoying since Independence.

Though Pakistan tried to internationalise the Kashmir issue, several other nations backed the stand of India which claimed the matter is completely internal as well as bilateral.
