Gas pipeline explosion in Chittagong leaves 7 dead
Chittagong/IBNS: A gas pipeline exploded in Chittagong city of Bangladesh and left at least seven people killed and 15 others hurt, media reports said on Sunday.
The five-storey building, where the explosion took place, is situated on Brickfield road.
The explosion left the building's wall to collapse.
Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) police outpost Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Alauddin Talukder on Sunday morning told Dhaka Tribune: "Fourteen injured were admitted to the hospital. Of them, seven died.”
The identities of four of those who died in the incident are still not known.
CMCH police outpost Inspector Jahirul Alam told the newspaper: "The seven died because of the wall collapse, not due to burn injuries."
