Afghanistan: Taliban shadow district governor killed
Kabul/IBNS: An airstrike in Faryab province of Afghanistan left Mawlawi Abdul Ghafar, the Taliban-designated shadow district governor of Almar district, killed, media reports said.
The airstrike took place in Khawja Gauhari village of Almar district after Afghan air forces targeted a Taliban’s haven in the district, the country's Ministry of Defence said in a statement as reported by Tolo News.
“Six vehicles and some weapons were also destroyed during the airstrike,” it said.
The Taliban group has not commented on the issue so far.
