Dhaka: Bangladesh has reported 28 new COVID-19 deaths in the past 24 hours, media reports said on Friday.
The country also witnessed the addition of 2772 new COVID-19 positive cases in the same period.
Additional director general of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Nasima Sultana, told Prothom Alo this during a regular online briefing on Friday.
On the 146th day of detection, the death toll now stands at 3,111 and the latest figures take the total number of infections in the country to 237,661, according to the briefing.
Bangladesh reported the first COVID-19 death case on Mar 18.
