Bangladesh: Freedom icon Bagha Jatin's statue vandalised in Kushtia
Kushtia: A statue of freedom struggle movement icon Jatindranath Mukherjee, who was also known as Bagha Jatin, has been damaged by unknown people in Bangladesh's Kushtia region, media reports said.
The latest statue damage incident occurred just weeks after Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's statue was damaged in the district town.

The incident took place in Kumarkhali Upazila's Kaya village early Friday, local Union Parishad Chairman Ziaul Haque Swapan told bdnews24.
"The face and nose of the statue, which was installed at the Bagha Jatin College premises in Kaya in 2016, were damaged by the miscreants," Kumarkhali Upazila Nirbahi Officer Rajibul Islam Khan told the news portal.
Police have reached the spot after being informed by locals.
Police have started their investigation into the matter to nab those behind the incident.
