Pakistan: Mumbai attacks planner Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi arrested
Islamabad: 2008 Mumbai attacks planner Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi was arrested in Pakistan oN Saturday, media reports said.
The LeT terrorist has been arrested in connection with a terrorism financing case registered by the Punjab Counter Terror Department at Lahore police station. He was allegedly running a dispensary using funds collected for terrorism financing, reports Times Now.
Lakhvi is the operations commander of terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba.
On November 26, 2008, 10 terrorists, trained by the Pakistan-based terrorist organisation LeT, carried out a series of coordinated attacks against multiple targets in Mumbai -- the Taj Mahal Hotel, the Oberoi Hotel, the Leopold Cafe, the Nariman (Chabad) House, and the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus -- killing 166 people, including 6 Americans.
