High COVID-19 positivity rate in Pakistan: Schools to remain closed till June 6 in 12 Sindh districts
Islamabad: The coronavirus positivity ratio remains higher than 5 percent in 12 districts of Sindh which is forcing authorities to keep educational institutes in the region closed till June 6.
The Federal Education Ministry recently said in a statement the districts include Badin, Dadu, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Sukkur, Shaheed Benazirabad, and all districts of Karachi, reports The News International.
Similarly, elsewhere across the country as well, wherever the positivity ratio is higher than 5%, the educational institutes will remain closed till June 6 and open on June 7, the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry also announced that all educational institutes will remain shut in Islamabad as well.
In districts, where the coronavirus positivity ratio is below 5%, educational institutes would reopen from May 24, the ministry said.
Pakistan has recorded 20,251 COVID-19 deaths so far.
