Attacks on Hindus must end in Bangladesh: UN
Dhaka: UN Resident Coordinator in Bangladesh Mia Seppo on Monday said attacks on Hindu community of the country should stop.
She asked the government of the country to ensure protection of minorities and conduct impartial probe into the incidents f violence which occurred in Bangladesh since last week when the Hindu community was celebrating Durga Puja.

"Recent attacks on Hindus in fueled by hate speech on social media, are against the values of the Constitution and need to stop. We call upon Government to ensure protection of minorities and an impartial probe. We call upon all to join hands to strengthen inclusive tolerant," she tweeted.

The violence has triggered protests across Bangladesh.

On Monday, thousands of people from the Hindu community, students and teachers of Dhaka University, and other institutions blocked the Shahbagh intersection to demonstrate against the attacks.
