Sri Lanka: Education Ministry says it will go ahead with exams amid paper shortage

| @indiablooms | 21 Mar 2022, 04:45 pm

Colombo: The Sri Lanka Education Ministry has announced it will conduct  examinations for senior school students as planned despite an earlier decision to cancel it due to a paper shortage in the country.

The term examinations will be conducted for Grades 9, 10 and 11 in schools in the Western Province from Mar 29.

The exams were postponed due to the shortage of printing papers and printing equipment in the local market, reports Daily Mirror.

All schools were earlier advised to print the examination papers for grades 6, 7 and 8 term tests at the expense of the schools, the newspaper reported.

As papers required for the printing of question papers have been received, the exams will be held as scheduled earlier.

Meanwhile, examinations of students for Grades 06, 07 and 08 started from Monday.
