Antony Blinken speaks to Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, discusses situation in Afghanistan
Washignton: United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken telephoned Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and discussed the situation in Afghanistan and the efforts to fight terrorism.
“The Secretary underscored the resolute U.S.-Pakistan commitment to Afghan stability and combatting terrorism ,” US State Department spokesperson Ned Price said in a readout of the conversation happened on Friday.
“The Secretary and Foreign Minister also highlighted ongoing engagement on trade and investment, climate, energy, health, and education," read the statement.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of US-Pakistani relations, Price said, adding that the United States looks forward to boosting US-Pakistan cooperation.

Blinken tweeted: "Spoke with Foreign Minister @BBhuttoZardari today. This year marks the 75th anniversary of U.S.-Pakistani relations, and we're committed to strengthening our relationship and our cooperation on Afghan stability, combatting terrorism, and expanding commerce #PakUSAt75."
Bilawal confirmed receiving a call from Blinken.

In a tweet, the Pakistan foreign minister said, “Received call from Antony Blinken grateful for warm felicitations on my assumption of office.”

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari had taken oath as the country's youngest foreign minister on April 27.
