We sowed seeds of terrorism, worshippers not killed during prayers even in India, Israel: Pak Defence Minister on Peshawar blast
Islamabad: Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Tuesday reacted to the Peshawar bomb blast and said worshippers were not killed during prayers even in India, adding that the country has sowed seeds of terrorism, media reports said.
Speaking on the floor of the National Assembly in Pakistan, Asif was quoted as saying by India Today: " Worshippers weren't martyred during prayers even in India or Israel, but it happened in Pakistan."
Interestingly, he said: "We sowed the seeds for terrorism.”
The Minister said who would be held accountable for the blood that was spilled due to Peshawar blast.
“This is a moment where we need introspection, we need to see where we stand. Why were these people brought? And this [attack] is not being condemned the way it should be," he was quoted as saying by Dawn News.
“This is not the war of a particular sect or segment, this is the Pakistani nation’s war," he said.
“Terrorism doesn’t differentiate between any religion or sect. Terrorism is used in the name of religion to take precious lives," he said.
He said that if bases were being used in Afghanistan, it was a liability for Pakistan “directly or indirectly”. “We wish good upon Afghanistan. It is our neighboring country. If they have peace that means we will also have peace. But the look at what we have done in the past.”
