Afghanistan: Women protest in Kabul to demand for education, work
Kabul: Women in Afghanistan's capital city Kabul on Tuesday protested to demand access to education for women, which has been curtailed ever since Taliban forces snatched power in the country in 2021.
They also demanded removal of restrictions imposed by Taliban forces on women.
“It is March 8 but women in Afghanistan have no rights to celebrate this day. We are the women who are imprisoned in the country. The restrictions are worsened day-by-day,” Jolia Parsa, a member of Junbish Itlaf Khodjosh Zanan, told Tolo News.
The women protested on a day when the world observed International Women's Day.
“We want to be provided with our rights to work as in many other countries around the world. We should be able to work in the government and non-government organizations,” Sufia Arifi, a member of Junbish Itlaf Khodjosh Zanan, told the news portal.
