Islamabad/IBNS: A terrorism case was registered against suspects who attacked a church in Islamabad and resorted to indiscriminate firing, reports said.

According to local media reports, the case was registered with Khanna police station in Pakistan's capital under 7ATA (Anti-Terrorism Act) and several other charges in response to a complaint lodged by Pastor Younis Javed.

The probe into the case has been handed over to the Counter-Terrorism Department, reports The Dawn.

The Dawn reported quoting local police officers that three persons were named in the FIR, but no one was arrested so far.

The FIR stated that four persons intercepted and sexually harassed the pastor’s daughter when she and her brother were going to a church in the Pindorian area of Islamabad.

The attackers started assaulting them when the girl’s brother asked them to stop the harassment, according to reports.

Later, a group of 40 armed men attacked the church when worshippers were praying inside, desecrated the premises and resorted to indiscriminate firing, reports The Dawn.

After being informed, the police reached the scene but the attackers had escaped by then.
