Pakistan: 11 die as wall of a building collapses in Islamabad
Peshawar: At least 11 people died and six others were injured after the wall of a building collapsed in Pakistan's Islamabad city on Wednesday, media reports said.
According to Industrial Area I-9 Superintendent of Police (SP) Khan Zeb, the bodies of the 11 people were recovered from the rubble with the help of machinery, reports Dawn News.
The bodies of the deceased — said to be labourers — were shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims), according to Mubashir Daha, who is the spokesperson for Pims Executive Director Imran Sikander, as quoted by Dawn News.
Daha said that six injured were also brought to the hospital, out of which one was discharged after receiving first aid, while the rest were out of danger.
Rescue team immediately rushed to the spot after the mishap.
A rescue operation was currently under way to recover more people who were suspected to still be trapped in the debris, the SP added.
