Chinese-owned TikTok removes 20m videos from Pakistan for violating community guidelines
Chinese-owned TikTok has said that between January and March, it has removed 166.99 million videos worldwide for breaching the platform’s community guidelines.
The number includes over 20m videos from Pakistan, reported Dawn News.
According to TikTok’s latest community guidelines enforcement report released on Monday, for the first quarter on 2024, TikTok’s proactive measures led to the removal of 166,997,307 videos worldwide, representing about 0.9 per cent of all videos uploaded on the platform, the Pakistani news paper reported.
In the three-month period, TikTok has removed and filtered 976,479,946 comments.
In Pakistan alone, the platform took action against 20,207,878 videos for also breaching its community guidelines during the same period, Dawn News reported.
