Mumbai attacks: Pakistan court dismisses plea for voice samples of accused

Islamabad, Jan 27 (IBNS): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday rejected petitions filed by the government which sought clippings of voice samples of seven suspects charged with involvement in the 2008 Mumbai attacks case, media reports said.

The court rejected the plea as the investigation agency did not pursue the matter, reports said.

"The prosecution was asking for the voice samples of the suspects to compare it with the communication intercepted by Indian intelligence and then present it before the anti-terrorism court (ATC) as evidence against the seven suspected for the November 2008 Mumbai attacks," Dawn News reported.

The 2008 Mumbai attacks had killed more than 160 people.

Six Americans were also killed on the coordinated attacks in Mumbai now infamously referred to as 26/11 since it had began on the night of Nov 26 in 2008.
