Taliban claims hand in F-16 crash

Kabul, Mar 30 (IBNS): Taliban has claimed they have downed a US Air Force F-16 fighter jet close to the Bagram Air Field in Afghanistan.

"A statement by the Taliban group said the aircraft came under fire and crashed in Bagram, leaving the jet destroyed and it’s was pilot dead," Khaama Press reported.

The 55th AEW Public Affairs, 455th Air Expeditionary Wing of U.S. Air Force Central Command declined the issue and was quoted as saying by Khaama Press: "Enemy fire was not a factor in the crash, and Air Force officials will investigate the cause of the crash.”
