US journalist killed in Afghanistan

Kabul, June 6 (IBNS): US photojournalist and a translator were killed in Afghanistan on Sunday, media reports said.

The US journalist has been identified as David Gilkey of National Public Radio (NPR).

NPR's Afghan interpreter Zabihullah Tamanna also died.

"David and Zabihullah were on assignment for the network traveling with an Afghan army unit, which came under attack killing David and Zabihullah," NPR reported.
