At least 18 die in B'desh garment packaging factory fire

Dhaka, Sept 10 (IBNS): At least 18 people were reported dead after fire broke out in a garment packaging factory in Bangladesh's Tongi in Gazipur district, reports said.

The incident took place on Saturday morning at around 7 am after a boiler of Tempako Packaging Factory exploded, Dhaka Tribune reported.

The incident also left 30 people injured, who were rushed to different nearby hospitals.

According to reports, 20 firefighting units were pressed to douse the blaze, which they fought till 12:16 pm local time.
