Afghan academy attack leaves U.S. general killed

Kabul, Aug 5 (IBNS): A US major-general was killed as a man, who was dressed in Afghan military uniform, attacked on International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) troops in Kabul on Tuesday, media reports said.

Several others were injured in the attack.

In a statement, the ISAF said: "ISAF confirms that an incident occurred today involving local Afghan and International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) troops at The Marshal Fahim National Defense University in Kabul City, Afghanistan."

"At this time, ISAF can confirm one ISAF service member was killed. This incident is under investigation. It is ISAF policy to defer casualty identification to the relevant national authorities," it said.

The security forces killed the attacker , reports said.
