Barry and Honey Sherman were murdered, say police
Toronto, Jan 27 (IBNS): Concluding an ongoing investigation, Toronto police have said on Friday that billionaire Barry and Honey Sherman were murdered in a targeted killing last month.
Barry, one of Canada's richest men, was found dead along with his wife at their Toronto home. The bodies of the billionaire couple were recovered on Dec 15
However, police are yet to nab any suspect and have declined to comment on the same.
According to detective Susan Gomes of Toronto Police, the murdered couple were last seen alive on Dec 13, after which communication with their families ceased
Gomes said that after reviewing six weeks of evidence the police are dealing with a double homecide. However, she added, "I'm not going to discuss the suspects, or any suspects."
Police had earlier said that the couple died due to neck compression.
Barry and Honey's death were mourned by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau along with thousand others.
Who was Barry Sherman?
Sherman was the founder of pharmaceutical company Apotex.
He was worth $3.2 billion, according to Forbes.
Founded in 1974, Apotex is the seventh biggest pharmaceutical company in the world.
Apotex is the largest exporter of generic drugs in Canada.
