San Francisco, Feb 9 (IBNS): Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Thursday pitched his country's tech market in the city of of northern California, media reports said.

Trudeau took part in a series of meetings with Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, Amazon's Jeff Bezos, eBay's Devin Wenig and Amgen CEO Robert Bradway.

Speaking about the tech market, Trudeau told media: "Any investment in Canada would be a great thing and obviously it would be a significant boon for anyone who got it. I certainly hope we get the HQ2 hub."

The Canadian PM also said he has been talking with Bezos regarding increase in the investment.

Trudeau had earlier sent a reminder to US President Donald Trump over the NAFTA discord a day ago.

Speaking at the University of Chicago, Trudeau said the US will be an economic sufferer if it pulls out of the pact.

The PM was quoted by CTV News as saying: "Even if theoretically there is a better opportunity for a long-term deal, in the short-term that's a lot of families out of work (and) suffering in a way that I think would be far worse politically."

"The challenge we have is not trade deal versus no trade deal. It's how do we make sure we're benefiting citizens and workers who don't feel like they've been properly supported or cared for over the past years" he added.
