Canada: Patrick Brown sends libel notice to CTV News
Toronto, Feb 24 (IBNS): Resigned Ontario Progressive Conservative leader Patrick Brown has sent a libel notice to Bell Media, a parent firm of CTV News, for allegedly reporting a false sexual harassment case against him, media reports said.
Brown had resigned as the PC leader following a report of the sexual harassment case against him by CTV News.
The allegations were brought by two women in an interview with CTV News.
Both the women alleged that Brown had sexually ill-treated them.
Reportedly, one of the accused had later changed her stance.
However, Brown called the news report as "false, malicious, irresponsible and defamatory".
Brown's former girl friend Mikaela Patterson, in an interview with CBC News, has rubbished allegations made by one of the two accusers, media reports said.
Patterson has rubbished the allegations made by the then university student who had accused Brown of sexual ill-treating her following a Hockey Night in Barrie Charity game.
