Ottawa, Mar 1 (IBNS): Federal Finance Minister Bill Morneau has thrown a hint that Canada's new pharmacare may not be available to all citizens of the country, according to CBC News.

In a recent interview with CBC Radio's The House, Morneau stated that the new pharmacare will be more "fiscally responsibile".

He said the plan may not be determined by the income levels.

Morneau said: "Sometimes those pharmaceuticals are so expensive that even ... people that are above the middle income band will find themselves in a very difficult situation."

The new plan may not cover those citizens who are currently under the existing pharmacare.

Morneau gave importance to all those people who are not under the coverage of OHIP.

Under the OHIP coverage, babies, children and youth under the age of 24 are entitled to get free medication.

Ontario's former Liberal Heath Minister Eric Hoskins will chair a meeting to discuss and decide on how to move with a national plan.

Morneau's interview will be aired on Saturday.
