Canada PM Trudeau describes India visit as 'trip to end all trips'
Ottawa, Jun 4 (IBNS): Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has described his India visit, which was considered to be quite dull overall, as a "trip to end all trips", following rebukes from his own country, media reports said.
Trudeau had presented a slideshow of his visit to India while addressing Canada's annual Parliamentary Press Gallary dinner recently.
During his speech, Trudeau reportedly tried to describe how he was received without much affections at the Delhi airport by Union Minister Gajendra Shekhawat.
Trudeau was on a week-long visit to India in February.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, unlike in other occasions, did not accompany his Canadian counterpart largely in the entire tour. The two leaders spent time only on the last day of Trudeau's tour to India.
Trudeau had visited Taj Mahal, Sabarmati Ashram, Golden Temple and even attended a mega Bollywood event on Tuesday.
Controversy also took the central seat in the tour after pro-Khalistani terrorist Jaspal Atwal was invited for a dinner organised Canadian High Commission. Later the invitation was rescinded.
Atwal was captured in a frame with Trudeau's wife Sophie.
In one of the slideshows, Trudeau's youngest son was seen lying down with his face on the ground while other family members of Trudeau including the PM was busy signing the guestbook at Rajghat in New Delhi. Referring to the slideshow, Trudeau said: "At that point, he just totally gave up on the trip."
