Canada PM Trudeau denies groping woman journalist in 2000

Regina, Jul 5 (IBNS): Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has denied an incident in which he was alleged to have groped a woman at a music festival way back in 2000, media reports said.

Trudeau made the comment while interacting with reporters in the central city of Regina on Canada's national day.

The allegations were brought almost two decades ago when Trudeau was not even involved in politics.

The music festival was held at a city in British Columbia.

When asked about the incident, Trudeau said: "I remember that day in Creston well, it was an Avalanche Foundation event to support avalanche safety."

"I had a good day that day.  I don't remember any negative interactions that day at all."

The PM has been quoted by Economic Times.

Few days after the festival in 2000, an unassigned editorial had claimed that Trudeau apologised to the reporter whom the PM had allegedly groped.

Trudeau was then 28.
