Canada PM Justin Trudeau meets Malala Yousafzai in Ottawa

Ottawa, Sept 8 (IBNS): Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Friday met activist and Nobel Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai in Ottawa, the capital of the country.

Trudeau took to Twitter to share a picture with Malala.

The two spoke about the work of the G7 Gender Equality Advisory Council.

The Prime Minister tweeted to say, "Great to catch up with @Malala today in Ottawa. We talked about the important work of the G7 Gender Equality Advisory Council and our commitment to making sure more women & girls around the world get to go to school."

Malala, who is an activist specially for female education, won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014.

The 21-year old activist also thanked Trudeau for the meeting.

She tweeted, "So happy to be back in Canada today! Thank you, Prime Minister, for your time and your commitment to education for every child."
