Canada PM Trudeau meets Switzerland President Alain Berset in Armenia

Yerevan, Oct 12 (IBNS): Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Thursday met Switzerland President Alain Berset in Armenia on the sidelines of the la Francophonie Summit.

Tweeting a picture with Berset, Trudeau said the two countries can increase collaboration between the two nations.

The Prime Minister tweeted, "I sat down with President @alain_berset in Armenia today. Thanks Alain for a great conversation about how we can increase collaboration between Canada & Switzerland and foster the kind of innovation that grows our economies and helps middle class people in both our countries."

Trudeau is in Yerevan, Armenia to participate at the Summit.

Former Canadian Secretary General Michaelle Jean is seeking the second term as the Francophonie Secretary General.

Jean is the organisation's secretary general since 2014. 

However, Canada is not likely to support Jean.
