Canada: Quebec court to deliver verdict on Mosque killing incident
Quebec City, Feb 8 (IBNS): Quebec Superior Court will on Friday deliver its judgement on the case pertaining to the killing of six worshippers at Quebec City mosque by one Alexandre Bissonnette in 2017, media reports said.
The accused pleaded guilty in last March.
He is charged with six counts of first-degree murder and another six of attempted murder.
The Crown recommended a six consecutive jail terms for Bissonnette leading the total number of his years behind bars to 150.
However, the defence argued the accused must be eligible to get parole after 25 years of his jail term.
On Jan 29, 2017, Bissonnettee had walked into the mosque during evening prayers and opened fire.
