Washington/UNI: President-elect Joe Biden will sign a slew of executive orders in very first days of taking office to reverse some of US president Donald Trump's policies over the past four years, media reports said.
The Washington Post and TV channels ABC and NBC quoting sources familiar with Biden’s plans said he is discussing signing a flurry of executive orders once he takes office to reverse some of President Trump’s policies.
There have been discussions about rejoining the Paris Climate Accords and World Health Organization, and repealing the travel ban.
According to the sources, executive action is only one vehicle to implement Biden’s agenda and the priority will be to work with Congress.
Biden will officially launch his transition on Monday and will name his coronavirus task force, which he mentioned in his acceptance speech.
“Folks our work begins with getting Covid under control…on Monday I will name a group of leading scientists and experts as transition advisers to help take the Biden-Harris Covid plan and convert it into an action blueprint that will start on January 20th 2021,” Biden said Saturday night.
The development coincided with other reports that Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser, has approached the President to concede the closely-fought election to Biden.
