Several international leaders praised US President Joe Biden after he dropped out of the presidential race and endorsed Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee for the crucial polls.

Recently elected British PM  Keir Starmer said he respects Biden's decision and posted on X: " I respect President Biden's decision and I look forward to us working together during the remainder of his presidency."

"I know that, as he has done throughout his remarkable career, he will have made his decision based on what he believes is best for the American people," he said.

Describing Biden a 'true friend', Canadian PM Justin Trudeau said: " I’ve known President Biden for years. He’s a great man, and everything he does is guided by his love for his country. As President, he is a partner to Canadians — and a true friend."

New Zealand PM Christopher Luxon wrote on X: "President Biden has dedicated his life to public service, and that is something that deserves much respect." "I thank the President for his leadership of the United States and his commitment to New Zealand. And I look forward to working with him for the remainder of his presidency," he said.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said his nation will remain grateful to Biden for his support to the country's war against Russsia.

" Ukraine is grateful to President Biden for his unwavering support for Ukraine's fight for freedom, which, along with strong bipartisan support in the United States, has been and continues to be critical," the President posted on X.

Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu wrote on X: " As I departed for the United States, I thanked President Biden for the many things he did for the State of Israel during the war and his years as President, Vice President, and Senator. "

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said: "My friend @POTUS Joe Biden has achieved a lot: for his country, for Europe, for the world. Thanks to him, transatlantic cooperation is close, NATO is strong and the USA is a good and reliable partner for us. His decision not to run again deserves respect."

US President Joe Biden on Sunday announced he will not seek re-election in the 'best interest' of his party and the country.

Biden was under pressure to quit the presidential race following his struggling performance in the debate with many within his party doubting his candidacy and re-election attempt.

Biden made the announcement just four months before the USA votes to elect a new President.
