Former President Donald Trump interacts with tech entrepreneur Elon Musk, says his assassination attempt was 'not pleasant'

Former US President Donald Trump on Monday said his assassination attempt was 'not pleasant' while interacting with tech entrepreneur Elon Musk over his social media platform.

“It was a hard hit. It was very, I guess you would say, surreal, but it wasn’t surreal. You know, I was telling somebody, you have instances like this … where you feel it’s a surreal situation. And I never felt that way. I knew immediately that it was a bullet,” Trump was quoted as saying to Musk by CNN during the interview.

What happened during the rally?

Donald Trump received injuries on his right ear during an election campaign rally at Pennsylvania's Butler, in what is seen as an assassination bid that left the 78-year-old Republican presidential candidate's face streaked with blood with his alert security agents rushing him off the stage even as he pumped his fist in the air, mouthing the words "Fight! Fight! Fight!"

The shooter, along with one bystander who was there to attend the rally, died.

As gunshots were heard, Trump, who was just six minutes into his election speech, was seen clutching a hand to his right ear, where blood was visible across his cheek and mouth.

Musk offers to take up a role in his administration

During his interaction with the former US President, Musk offered to take up a role in his administration if Trump is elected to power.

“I think it would be great to just have a government efficiency commission that takes a look at these things and and just ensures that the taxpayer money, the taxpayers’ hard-earned money, is spent in a good way,” Musk told Trump in a conversation streamed on X as quoted by CNN. “I’d be happy to help out on such a commission.”

Trump blamed Joe Biden for the inflation situation in the USA.

“I think we have the worst inflation we’ve had in 100 years. They say it’s 48 years. I don’t believe it,” Trump said.

The US inflation rate touched 40-year high of 9.1 per cent in 2022.

Elon Musk, who has endorsed Trump, claimed the start of the conversation was delayed due to a massive 'DDOS' attack.

"There appears to be a massive DDOS attack on š•. Working on shutting it down," he posted on X.

What is DDOS attack?

As per the IBM website, a DDoS attack aims to disable or take down a web site, web application, cloud service or other online resource by overwhelming it with pointless connection requests, fake packets or other malicious traffic.
